Getogethersafe.com claimed Intelius Incorporated, an information protection service company founded by Naveen Jain, as the sole supplier of their site’s background check and identity verification.
Under their arrangement, Intelius provided Getogethersafe.com with the identity certification assistance, Intelius InteliSign, enabling consumers on the website to verify their valid identity. Users of getogethersafe.com also gained access to Intelius Background Checks, which provides complete sex offender and criminal record checks.
Intellius InteliSign, a real-time online dating service, lets users keep their identity anonymous but confirms them as real and existing individuals in the community. This verification system processes a sequence of questions validating the user’s name, living situation, address, criminal background and age. It is also a blind query that secures the consumer’s information, manages the check and presents the results to the end user, without showing any restricted data. In an MSN survey, 64% of the people who never visited any web dating site reasoned that they don’t trust people they meet on the web.
Chief executive officer of Getogethersafe.com, Rana Adamchick, says that several dating sites center on building a mass volume of users, with no regard to quality, while Getogethersafe.com introduces consumers with people who aim to make strong relationships.
“Intelius is a key partner for us, as their service provides our users with the confidence to interact on our site. Clients will be able to verify the person’s identity, which can reduce the risk of harm, and of course, fraud. As long as they use the service, it should create a safer experience for them,” she adds.
Senior vice president of Intellius’ Business Development department, Ed Petersen, states that anonymity is one of the highlights in online dating. However, user falsification is one of the many alarming drawbacks of this setup.
